Going For Your Goals
Melanie jumps into her backstory as a stay-at-home mom of two turned fitness coach and entrepreneur to a large scale coaching business. Her educational background wasn’t in this line of work, and many people in her circle had reservations. It took a lot of hard work and dedication of her time and energy, but Melanie focused on her goals to get to where she wanted to be.
Standards of Professionalism
When working on growing her business, Melanie had two rules for herself, she didn’t want to be “sales-y” and in peoples faces, and didn’t want to spam people online. She knew she wanted a good level of professionalism, and the content she wanted to put out to be of value. So also approached it with an “impact over income” mindset to remind herself that this is an opportunity to help others.
Build Your Team
Melanie knew early on that she wanted to build a team. She knew that as her business grew, she was going to cap out on the amount of people she could serve. By bringing others in, she could keep expanding and serving as many people as possible. By providing solid customer service and individualized attention, her business grew naturally. Leading people, to her, is just teaching them what you already know and guiding them along the way.
Leadership Qualities
Reflecting on her years as a top coach, Melanie explains that it all started with energy and momentum from that energy. She continued that momentum from constantly bringing in new people, ideas, and excitement about what they were doing. The best leaders that she has seen have self-awareness, optimism when it comes to mindset, resilience, discipline, and a drive to keep learning.
Show Up for Your Business
When you think about the goals in your business, you need a marketing calendar. This calendar is going to drive all the things that make your business functional. Have this be a monthly overview that runs your weekly and daily activities based on your overall goals. You need to be ready to show up for the things that drive your business forward and produce results. It’s hard work, but you need to do it to build trust and credibility with your audience, and you’ll reap the benefits of the effort you put in.
