On this quick solo episode, I just want to chat about pace and the influence it can have on going after your goals. Setting the right pace encourages you to follow the path that you want to be on, allows you to feel challenged without burning out, and gives you the drive to keep going. Pace is usually pushed to the background of most people’s thoughts, but it’s a powerful part of your overall plans.
Talking Points:
02:08 Vision
05:52 Consistency
12:55 Habits
Vision
Let your vision evolve as it should. You don’t have to stick to the status quo or the plan you originally came up with because you think you should. Trust that heart tug and pull to do something more. Lean into it and see where it takes you. Wanting to hussle isn’t a bad thing, so don’t be afraid to change your pace.
Consistency
Consistancy over intensity. Have a solid base that’s going to lead you forward instead of trying to rush to the finish line. Ride the goldilocks line where you are driven and motivated, but go at a steady pace. Consistency should always stay right at the edge of what you’re capable of to challenge yourself, but not flow over so that things get too overwhelming so you don’t keep up with it.
Habits
When you practice the habits and the vision that you really want to work toward, the pace will feel easy. Being hungry to pursue your goals helps move things forward. Also, having people who are as equally, if not more, driven to go after their goals will inspire you to set a pace that will lead you to where you want to be.
