Small Wins & Habits for Long Term, Big Success

Small Wins Big Success

In this episode, I discuss small wins that will ultimately create long term, massive success.

One of my favorite lines from the book “Million Dollar Habits” states: It takes 5-7 years of focused, determined work on yourself to get better in specific areas.  If you do what other successful people do, you’ll eventually get the same results.  Nobody is better or smarter – they simply started working on themselves earlier than you did.

I break down simple wins that I work to give myself every single day, and how I went about creating those habits — a technique called Habit Stacking from “Atomic Habits” by James Clear.  Example: After I get out of bed, I will put on my workout clothes.

I talk about my weekly process of Clearing & Cutting, reflecting on my wins, losses, and how I can improve for the next week.  The planner I reference is the Rise Up planner by Moira Kucaba.

If you are starting a business, consistent, small wins are very important for others who are watching as well — they need to know if you are in this consistently for the long term, or if you are treating it like a “flash in the pan” opportunity.  Every time you do the value driving activities, you give yourself the small wins, and you put a deposit in the trust bank.

Remember the bigger picture and that this is a journey of growth from the inside out – you can’t spread your wings to fly unless you have done the work of growing your roots on the inside.  I discuss this concept in Episode 12: The Power of Consistency

Give yourself grace in the process; the entire reason we are creating disciplined habits is to create the freedom we desire.
