It’s gonna be a little shorty episode for you all about taking inventory of your life. And this episode is really important to me because it’s going to help me learn more about you.

Molly [00:01:26]:
So first and foremost, I want to make sure you hear this before I get into this because it’s really important and there’s a nice juicy incentive for you as well. I’m really trying to learn more about who’s listening to the podcast. Right? Like, I can see analytics and I can see that the show is growing, but I really wanna learn who you are and what you would love more of, what you’re wanting in your life, where you’re at in your life. And I’m gonna talk through things today that I think are is gonna help you, like, identify that because I think sometimes we don’t even know. We’re like, well, Molly, I’m going through the motions and I’m a high performer and I’m doing all the things, but I I wanna know, like, where you at in your life and and what do you want? So if you head to the show notes, and you can do this right now in the beginning or you can do it after I kinda talk through things, but it’s very important that you fill out the podcast listener survey. I swear it’ll take you like five minutes. This isn’t like a deep share everything survey. It is like check the box question, multiple choice.

Molly [00:02:32]:
You can literally do it in five minutes or less. So I would so appreciate if you fill that out. If you fill it out by this Friday, which is Friday, March 14. Alright. Episode drops on Tuesday. You literally have four days to do this. So time is of the essence. You will go into a drawing for a $100 Lululemon gift card.

Molly [00:02:54]:
I will be announcing the winner on next week’s episode. I will also share it in my e share whoever wins in my emails and everything. If you’re make sure you’re on my email list, molly aspen dot com slash subscribe. I always send a nice recap out when a new podcast drops. I share high performance habits. Like, you wanna be on my email list. I share a lot of good good stuff there that I think is really gonna supplement you listening to this, but make sure you fill out the podcast listener survey. Alright? So that is in the show notes.

Molly [00:03:24]:
You can’t miss it and you only have until Friday. So if you’re anything like me, I would just pause and do it right now Because once I’m done with something, it’s like it’s in my brain and then it’s gone. Right? If you are a working mom, you know what I mean? It’s like, I just need to get this, like, five minute task done right now before I forget. So we’re gonna take inventory of your life. I want you to think about what is really important to you right now. Now I am 36 and I have three kids as you know if you’re a regular listener. And I feel like I have definitely gone through some seasons of life where I kinda just uncover more and more on, like, where I’m at and what’s important to me and what’s not. And I will tell you that right now or let me let me start here.

Molly [00:04:15]:
For a long time, I sort of felt like I was trapped in someone else’s life. And I actually hear this from a lot of my clients. They sort of feel like they’re living a life that’s like someone else’s or like, how did I get here? And it’s not that you’re not grateful. Right? It’s nothing like that, but it’s like this, like, rat race or crazy busy cycle is not what I actually wanted. Right? And so I have definitely gone through that type of season with my corporate job. I think I really went through a season where it was like, I think I a different path. Right? Like, I don’t think this is it for me. I think I want something totally different.

Molly [00:04:57]:
And then I went through cycles of business of entrepreneurship where I was like, I need to prioritize life more. Right? And I think I’ve really been probably there for, like, the last two years just seeing my kids grow older and, like, k. My my business is what it is, but, like, I wanna prioritize life more alongside that. And you know what? Now I think I’m really to a place where I kinda got that under control. I think this all ebbs and flows too. Right? And I think it will continue to. I think that’s life and the beauty of personal growth and knowing what you need in different seasons. But now, I think I’m at a point where I’m like, I am ready to grow and scale a big business and I’m gonna be present in my life while I do it.

Molly [00:05:46]:
And that means I have to be smart about it, and I have to hire help, and I can’t just do it on my own. Like, there’s there’s a lot of challenges and obstacles and bold moves that go into that. So by no means am I, like, I’m gonna grow a big business and I’m gonna live a perfect life. Like, it’s that’s not real, but I do very much have the belief that, like, I am here to do both. I am here to be the present mom and wife that I wanna be, and I’m here to grow and scale a big business that holds a lot of meaning to me. So I just wanted to kinda give you some examples of where you might be. Why this matters is because you don’t wanna find yourself trapped in your own life. Right? You don’t wanna find yourself on autopilot going through the motion or building a life that great looks great on paper, but, like, inside every day you feel resentful or you feel like this isn’t this isn’t me or this ain’t it.

Molly [00:06:47]:
I wanna help you just pause and take inventory of where you’re at and what’s important. So a lot of times high achievers will get caught in the, I’ll feel better when, when I reach the next goal, when my schedule slows down, when hockey is finished, when hockey is finished. I heard that from some moms this year. When when summer comes, when the weather’s better, like, you know, and we kinda just like kick this can down the road of waiting. And clarity doesn’t come from that. Right? It comes from evaluating and actually reflecting. And so if we don’t take time to assess where we’re at right now, we can get five years down the road and wonder, how did I get here? And like, why didn’t I like tweak or adjust or pivot or make some changes sooner. So another great thing to ask yourself is what like, if you were to just stop and think about it right now, if I asked you this, I asked all my one on one clients this on our first session where we do take inventory of their life is, what are your top three personal goals and what are your top three professional goals? And I’m gonna share mine with you just, again, so you can get some ideas as you listen and as you reflect.

Molly [00:08:02]:
Top three personal goals, I have big goals around just marriage and having fun with Steve and getting regular date nights on the calendar. I feel like we were very much in the thick of newborns and young kids for the last six years. And so just, like, making marriage a priority, and it’s not that it hasn’t been, but you know what I understand. You know what I mean. Right? It’s like it’s just easy for it to go on the back burner. And so that’s a priority for me and him. We’ve we’ve talked about it a lot this year, not working after 9PM. I love that I wrote, like, not like, it’s just like a negative like, not working after 9PM is a personal goal, but that affects marriage.

Molly [00:08:43]:
It affects goal number one. It affects, just my mental clarity and my sharpness and my focus and my health. I’ve talked a lot about sleep and just, like, taking better care of myself on the show. And then my third personal goal is just like, full like, really high presence with kids. I was gonna say full presence. It’s hard. Right? It’s hard to be, like, always on, and so I’m not asking myself to be perfect with it. But I am asking myself to, like, really be present on the weekends.

Molly [00:09:14]:
Fridays, I’m off with my two youngest my two younger kids. And I have so much fun and, like, joy when I’m just, like, more chill on those days. And I’m just, like, present and in it and, like, not so rigid and just, like, not holding things so tightly, but just come what have you and just, like, enjoying the days with them. It is a really short season and I’ve learned that with my oldest. So I just, like, wanna, I don’t know, enjoy when they’re just, like, these little tiny humans and they’re like cute and cuddly and, you know, and then my top three professional goals again, so that you can get ideas. I am working to help thirty two one on one clients this year. Gosh. I think I’ve had, like, 12, like, helped, like, twelve one on one clients so far.

Molly [00:10:00]:
I only have room in my schedule for eight at one time. And so thirty two is basically having a, like, a fully booked out business, and that has been happening. So I’m just, like, loving that. I’m learning so much about so many high performing women, and it’s really just giving me so much insight, I think, to better serve and better lead in this role and better like, be a better high performance coach. So that’s a goal that I have. Experimentation with, like, other like, with business to business, like b to b, I’m just, like, kind of experimenting in that space. Retreats are a goal for me. I will actually be leading a few more retreats this year.

Molly [00:10:42]:
I feel like I can’t mention much about that yet because we are, like, finalizing details on that, but that will very be very much be part of my business. You’ll hear more. I am really working to build in a business that’s an extension of who I am. Like, meaningful work, fulfilled work, so, like, such a priority to me. You know that if you listen to this. And so my biggest goal with my business is that it’s just, like, an extension of who I am, and it’s generous, and it’s giving, and it just feels so helpful to career driven moms. And it really makes a difference in their lives. So anyway but my third professional goal is my Dream It Do It membership or Dream It Do It wellness.

Molly [00:11:28]:
I I am making some pretty big changes there. You’ll see them rolled out in the next few months. If you’re in there, like, nothing’s changing with, like, price and things. It’s just, like, it’s gonna get a whole lot better. And so I like, that is just a big focus for me for the rest of the year too. So just to share, like, some professional goals, personal goals. Now I know if you’re a corporate leader, your professional goals might be different. But, again, I want you to just think about, well, high level, like, what am I trying to do in the next twelve months? Like, what is really important to me right now? So five core areas that you can just think about as you reflect and as you take inventory of your own life.

Molly [00:12:11]:
In career and business, do you feel aligned with the work that you’re doing? I know a lot of my one on one clients are like, no, I don’t. You know, like, that hap that comes up occasionally, so that’s fine. But then the next question is, why not? Like, what doesn’t feel fulfilling about it? Or what are you trying to do? Are you challenged? Are you growing? Are you fulfilled? Are you just clocking in and out? Does it feel like you’re going through the motions? Does it feel too stressful? Or do you feel resentful with the team that you might have? If money weren’t a factor, would you still be doing it? And I know that question is always difficult for people because it’s like, but money is a factor, Molly. Like, we all have bills to pay. But I think it is a good question on, like, are you totally off with where you’re at right now? Because it’s a if, like, no, I would never be doing this. Well, then I I would say that, like, raises a bit of a red flag. Right? So career and business, just think about that. Reflect on where you’re at with it.

Molly [00:13:09]:
If you’re a business owner, is it overtaking your life? Right? Do you feel like you’re totally missing out on personal goals or even personal values or quality time that is really important to you because it’s depleting you and you’re giving everything to it or I’ll hear business owners say, like, I’m dying. Like, I’m dying because I’m pouring so much into this and I have nothing left to give anything else. Again, questions for reflection. Think about personal life and relationships. Are you happy with where you’re at there? You know, I mentioned marriage as a focus for me and I actually find that for a lot of people in my season of life, it’s like, yeah, marriage. Like, would love some focused date nights again and just, like, you know, coming out of the of the haze of of tiny kids. Right? Do you feel present and engaged in your relationships or is your mind always elsewhere? When was the last time you had a deep, meaningful conversation with a friend or a partner? Do you feel like your relationships have depth? Another area to think about is your mindset and mental energy. What are your thoughts like most days? What’s going on in your head? Right? Do you wake up with a racing mind? Do you wake up with a calm mind? Are you generally positive? Right? Or do you kind of like I’ll hear women tell me, like, I kind of like will put on a front, but, like, inside I’m flustered or I’m stressed or but I just put on a good face for everyone else.

Molly [00:14:42]:
Do you feel excited about your days most days? Or do you feel drained? Do you have a constant feeling of overwhelm or do you have a sense of control and peace over your days? Health and energy, right? This is a big topic. We have a whole, had a whole episode around high performance and how it affects energy. Are you treating your body in a way that supports your optimal self, the future self that you are trying to step into? Do you feel strong, energized, and capable, or do you feel sluggish? Do you feel exhausted? Do you do you feel like you’re running on e? Do you feel like your own self care is being neglected? Personal growth and fun. When was the last time you did something just for you? I’ve heard this come up a lot this year. I’m like, I need more time just to enjoy or to just be or to have fun. Like and some people will say, like, I don’t even really know what fun means to me, Molly, but, like, I know I want more time for it. Like, I wanna kind of maybe you’re in a phase of rediscovering yourself, something fun or adventurous you’ve been putting off for some day. And maybe now is the time to actually get going on it.

Molly [00:15:56]:
The goal isn’t to shame yourself with all these questions, like, you know, or say like, oh, I’m terrible at that or that could be better, but it’s to give yourself awareness of where you’re at and what you really want. And my hope is that the Dream It Do It podcast can continue to be a great resource for you and become an even more an even better resource for you. Right? I am paying attention to you right now, like, the listeners who are listening right now in this moment, and I will continue to build the show off your responses, off who you are and what you need. So that’s why I’m asking you to take this inventory. There will be some questions on there about like, are you a corporate leader who is kind of where you’re at from a corporate standpoint? And maybe you’re actually content with that, but you are trying to prioritize the life more. Or maybe just trying to gain some clarity on, like, is this really where I wanna be? I’d also love for you to think about, and this is on the podcast listener survey, is just what, like, what sums up what you do? Are you a full time entrepreneur, full time business owner, or maybe you own your own business, whether it’s online or a brick and mortar, chiropractor, lawyer, something like that? Do you have a side hustle? Right? Like, maybe you are a corporate employee or a teacher or a nurse and you do something on the side, or you’re wanting to, like, pursue something more on the side. Maybe you’re trying to sort of make a career change and you’re like, well, step one, I think I’ll add something on the side. Maybe you’re in that boat, right, and looking for more, like, time flexibility or just something to call your own, something to create of your own.

Molly [00:17:46]:
Maybe you’re in that space. Are you moving up the corporate ladder? Right? Maybe you have a very successful corporate career and that’s your path, and you’re like, I wanna continue to climb and grow, and I like learning high performance along the way. Maybe you’re seeking a promotion, that type of thing. Maybe you’re in that camp. Or maybe you’re at a point where career wise, you’re actually okay. You’re like, you know what? I’m good on that. I’ve gotten to a place where I feel good, but I just really wanna prioritize life or I want to have better balance or better boundaries or better better health, better energy. I have to think you probably see yourself in one of those camps and maybe it’s a combination of a couple, but I would love for you to fill out the podcast listener survey and it just helps me understand what’s on your heart, where you’re at in life, and what kind of support you really need.

Molly [00:18:42]:
So the link is in the show notes. Again, the hundred dollar Lululemon gift card is only available for those who fill it out.
