In today’s solo episode, I wanted to discuss pregnancy and body image during that time. It’s a topic that I think is important to bring up to help women feel more confident in their own skin as they experience change.
Talking Points:
01:20 Thoughts
06:50 Comments
12:06 Fears
18:04 Action
Thoughts
It’s good to know that you don’t have to love being pregnant, and you aren’t alone if you don’t. Everyone has different experiences and that’s okay. The best gift is at the end anyway. Your body is going to go through changes, so it’s important to try to stop negative thoughts and be proud of the fact that you are growing a small being inside of you.
Comments
People may comment on your bodily changes during pregnancy, so whether it’s well intended or not, it’s best to dismiss these comments. You are in control of your thoughts, so don’t fester on it and move on. Also, don’t worry about what people may be thinking. Own it! This is your journey. Make sure to do things that make you feel happy in your own pregnancy body.
Fears
A big fear that can creep up is not losing the weight after the baby arrives, which generally comes from comments we hear from others. Although your body isn’t going to be the same (because you grew a baby!) it doesn’t mean you don’t have control over what happens after birth. It’s mindset and putting in work if you want to make changes.
Action
It’s best to choose action over anxiety during pregnancy. Do your best to take care of your body by continuing to move and eat good, healthy foods. Not treating yourself well is only cause more anxiety, so take action. You’ll feel good when you know you are in control of your habits.
